About Us – Hiporehabilitation center Mirákl, o.p.s.
On 03/10/2012, a voluntary group of people and horses became the civic association C. H. Mirákl, o.p.s. that was founded in order to develop knowledge and to perform practical hiporehabilitation in a form of a therapeutic rehabilitation on a horse. We believe that there is no better movement teacher than a horse.
Our goal is life improvement for families with (disabled) children using methods such as hiporehabilitation, but also canistherapy, music therapy etc. We want to offer alternatives to classic rehabilitation and to provide parents with a possibility to get complex care for their child in motor, psychological and social area.
Our clients are mostly children from 3 years of age. We focus on neurological and orthopedic diagnoses, on genetic diseases, post-traumatic states or visual or hearing impairments and also on minor functional problems of locomotor system and their prevention. We also offer para-riding or active riding, which allows the children to make a transition from "therapy" to a leisure activity.
We also engage in research activities and in promoting hiporehabilitation. We cooperate with a research section of the Department of biomechanics of FTVS UK (Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at the Charles University) and we try to objectivize hipotherapy results using field EMG. We are a member of Clinical Interest Group Hipotherapy that struggles for recognition of hipotherapy as a medical method so that it could be paid by health insurance companies. With our lecture Hipotherapy in early care we have actively taken part in a worldwide conference in Athens in 2012. We organize courses for professional public and offer practical trainings, study visits and training of hiporehabilitation horses. We cooperate with CKP Roseta, which allows us to expand our offer of rehabilitation methods.
